Welcome!
My name is Erin White and I am a myofunctional therapist out of Anacortes, WA. I have a passion for empowering people through education of preventative and corrective techniques.
I am a parent of childen that not only “got missed”, but were also in the traditional “wait until they are older” age group, where resources are not as well known. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, I knew important facial and developmental growth was happening. I had learned how much myofunctional disorders play a significant role in that development, but hit a wall, because I was told my kids “can’t do their own exercises”.
Not many know this, but I am also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse. I spent a decade working with patients that “can’t do their own exercises”. As you can imagine, being told this about my children did not sit well. I just thought, if I can help a dog learn how to walk, run, then compete on a national level again, why can’t someone help these kids.
That is what brings us here today. My children and my unique professional background inspired me to pursue education to become an Orafacial Myofunctional Therapist.
My personal experience leads me towards treating children during growth, but many of us adults, including myself, where once those children. Thankfully, I’ve learned, it’s never too late!
I am currently working with age 3ish to adults and every age in-between. In addition, I can offer resources to parents of younger children and/or infants. As this field continues to grow, I will continue to educate and grow with it.
As a Registered Dental Hygienist, I have an understanding of the oral systemic connection and the importance of homeostasis. My previous experience as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse, taught me the importance of a multi-factorial approach in restoring and/or improving normal function.
I look forward to empowering you with the knowledge and techniques needed to identify, prevent, and/or improve your or your childs myofunctional disorders.
